Constitution, calling or dismissing the Pastor, which shall be decided by three-fourths vote of the members.
Section 2: Attendance: 1. Any member holding an official office, that does not attend three (3) consecutive called business meetings, unless providentially hindered, is automatically excluded from office. 1. Any member that does not attend services for a period of three (3) months unless providentially hindered is deprived of the right to vote until they attend three (3) consecutive Sundays. 2. Any member that is absent for the period of six (6) months will be placed on the inactive church roll until they have attended three (3) consecutive Sundays
Section 3: This church shall be a Christian Fellowship for the mutual helpfulness of her member. It shall be independent, strictly self-governing in all matters, and she shall not be under the direction or control of any denomination or federation.
Section 4: The Pastor shall preside at all meetings, when business is transacted, except in instances when the Pastor is absent, or the church is without a Pastor, in which instance one of the Trustees shall act in the Pastor's absence. The Pastor and the Permanent Trustee shall be elected to transact any business pertaining to the church upon which members of the Church have authorized. The body of the Church shall be guided in its deliberations by the standard parliamentary procedure. All discussions shall be conducted along orderly lines, asking for God's guidance with prayer. At no time shall personal antagonisms be tolerated between dissenting parties or groups.
Section 5: Only persons belonging to the Highland Avenue Baptist Church, in good standing, have the right to vote on any matter acted upon by the church. A member must be at least sixteen (16) years old or older to vote.
ARTICLE V OFFICERS OF THE CHURCH
Section 1: No person other than a member of this church in good standing shall hold any office in this church.
Section 2: The officers of this church shall be as follows: 1. A Pastor, ordained by a Baptist Church of like faith and order. 2. A Board of Trustees: consisting of one Permanent Trustee and one Trustee serving four (4) years, one Trustee serving three (3) years, one Trustee serving two (2) years, and one Trustee serving one (1) year. 3. A Treasurer and an Assistant Treasurer. 4. A Secretary/Clerk
ARTICLE VI ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Section 1: The Pastor shall be called to the pastorate of the church by a three-fourths vote of the church, and shall remain as such for an indefinite period of time, which shall be terminated by the Pastor giving thirty (30) days notice or the church giving the Pastor thirty (30) days notice after a three-fourths vote of the church indicating that this is the desire of the church. A meeting for this purpose must be called and so stated in an announcement from the Pulpit in regular session of the church at least thirty (30) days before said meeting.
Section 2: All other officers shall be elected by a majority vote of the church for one (1) year, except for the Trustees, as so noted in Article V - Officers of the Church, Section 2.
ARTICLE VII DUTIES OF OFFICERS
Section 1: It shall be the duty of the Pastor to feed and oversee the flock (church), to preach Christ Jesus the Lord, and to proclaim the whole council of God as the Holy Spirit leads him. The Pastor will be the moderator of all meetings when present.
Section 2: The duty of the Trustees and qualifications shall be the same spiritually as those for Deacons, Acts 6:1-7 and I Timothy Chapter 3, and such other assignments as the Church may deem necessary. The Trustees will fill in whenever the Pastor is absent,
