We began as a Mission sponsored by Temple Baptist Church in Sharonville Ohio in 1995.
We were then called The Temple Baptist Mission.
Our goal was to take the Preaching of the Gospel to the Village of New Miami and surrounding communities.
We were lead by Devine Inspiration from God to begin the New Works in the Village using the Only Authorized 1611 King James Bible which we believe to be the ONLY TRUE AND CORRECT INSPIRED WORD OF GOD.
All others are man's versions of what they WANTED God to say.
Beginning in a warehouse behind Couch's Campers, we set up worship and set out to obey God.
For several month's we stayed there and began to grow.
We then moved to a small Utility Office that we rented from the Village of New Miami. A certain preacher, Brother Bob Ward and his wife Betty began to worship with us.
That's when the doors were opened for us and the building at 59 Highland Ave. became available to us.
Beginning by renting, we held service there on Sunday mornings and Thursday Evenings.
The building was soon offered to us for sale. We then began the proper procedures and purchased the building in 1996.
We then became an Independent Baptist Church.
We made many repairs, installed new windows and doors, put up new vinyl siding while continuing to worship and serve God.
In 1997, Brother Bob Ward and his wife Betty joined our church. Soon Brother Bob Ward was voted in as Associate Pastor and soon would become our Sole Pastor of Highland Avenue Baptist Church.
Under the teaching and directions of Pastor Ward, we began to grow and excel in the knowledge of God.
Pastor Bob Ward went Home to be with the Lord May 30, 2001.
June 3, 2001 Elmer Bishop SR was voted in as Pastor of Highland Ave. Baptist Church.
