TEXT Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
We often times read this parable and think about those that play church once a week. Hang out in the bars through the week, party on weekends, hang with the wrong crowd etc.
These are not the tares spoken about here. The tares spoken of here are the ones that look just like us, act just like us, cannot be different in appearance from us.
There are Preachers, Teachers, Deacons, Priests, etc that have never been saved but has captured many souls from God because of there own self worth.
If I were the Devil, I would want to get my people in the best churches, make the look the best, make them talk the best and make them act the best.
The Sowing…VS 24-25
Recall VS 38, The Good Man is The Son Of God.
· He is the one who sows the seeds in the field, we are the seed, and the world is the field.
· While man slept, the enemy came, the devil, and sowed his seed among the good seed.
· A tare looks like wheat but produces not. The devil comes along and plants his people among the good people of the church. They both look alike, one produces good fruit, and one produces none. · No man can tell them apart. God and His Angles can.
A tare is the greatest work of the Devil. (VS 25)
· Guess that's why preachers are always trying to wake people up. Trying to keep the Devil from sowing tares in the church. Has to holler loud, reach the back, and cover the entire congregation.
· Churches has become too easy, preachers too nice, smoking & non-smoking section, drinks served after Sunday School, adult play room etc. It's because more and more churches are being run by tares. It happens while they sleep. WAKE UP CHURCH!!!!
The Growing…VS 26-28 · Do we say, “They mean well…We all serve the same God…They just believe different” The enemy hath done this. We need to recognize the Devil as our ENEMY.
· Should we chase them out of the church? VERSE 29 He say's NO. We are not to put the sinners to death…Wait until the harvest.
· Let's each examine our own Conversion experience.
1. The Bible say's “Let us grow together”
2. Stay awake.
· Anyone can tell a weed from a wheat, but only God can tell a tare from wheat.
· If you are a tare, the Devil will tell you that you are a wheat.
WAKE UP CHURCH.
· You better make sure your conversion is out of this book.
· They grow together
· They go to Sunday School together
· They do church work together · Satan will put them in GOOD Churches, Not BIG, not EXPENSIVE, Not NATIONAL but GOOD GOD FEARING CHURCHES.
The Knowing (VS 30) “Let both grow together until the harvest:
· Knowing is knowing that the end is coming. The time for harvest is near.
· You can fool those that plant, those that water, those that weeds the garden, those that fertilize, but you'll never fool those that REAP the HARVEST.
· Many have looked like wheat, Acted like wheat, Prayed like wheat, Preached like wheat, Teaches like wheat but are tares.
Vs 30 Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them:
If the Devil is this strong and fool so many, how do I really know I'm wheat and not a tare?
He Bible say's “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”.
Salvation is not crying, over feelings or sorry for getting caught or sorry that you hurt someone.
SALVATION IS RECEIVING JESUS CHRIST BY FAITH ALONE.
REALIZING THAT YOU ARE A SINNER, CONDEMED BY SIN.
REALIZING JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS FOR ALL SINNERS.
AND IF WE RECEIVE HIM AS OUR SUBSTITUTE, WE CAN BE SAVED.
This is a TRANSACTION between the SINNER and the SAVIOR.
EXAMINE YOUR HEART.
While they come with a song of invitation.
Are you WHEAT? Or are you TARE.
