and will transact the business desires of the Church, with the Pastor. See Article IV Section 4 for reference.

Section    3:  Teachers for Sunday School shall be chosen with prayer by the Pastor.

Section  4:  The Treasurer shall have the responsibility of seeing that bills are paid promptly. The Treasurer will post a financial statement monthly on the church bulletin board. Any expenditures over $200.00 (other than utilities, insurance, mortgage, etc.) must be voted upon at a meeting announced from the Pulpit. Petty Cash of $100.00 should be available to the Pastor for gasoline for visitation and also for office supplies (i.e., stamps, etc.).
An Assistant Treasurer shall be elected to help the Treasurer to assist in preparation of reports, etc., and if the Treasurer, for some reason, cannot fill the position for the year.
The Pastor, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer's signature will be on file as authorized signatures for Highland Avenue Baptist Church. One (1) signature will be required to issue checks and two (2) signatures will be required to make withdrawals from Church Savings Account.
Election for Treasure and Assistant Treasurer are for one (1) year, however, they may be re-elected if the members so desire.

Section  5:  The Secretary/Clerk shall keep all records of incoming and outgoing memberships. Take minutes of all business meetings. Write correspondence for the Church pertaining to the Church. Be responsible and ensure that a file of any correspondence using the Highland Avenue Baptist Church's name on file in the Church's file cabinet. Send cards, flowers etc., when appropriate for the Church.

ARTICLE VIII
FINANCES

The work of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church shall be supported by tithes and free-will offerings. The church as such shall not sponsor nor engage in any money making activities other than Benefit Singings.

ARTICLE IX
DISCIPLINE

Section 1: The sole power of discipline shall be vested in the church, per New Testament teachings on the subject. Members shall be excluded from the membership of the church upon a sufficient evidence of gross sin and a failure to repent thereof.

Section 2: No member shall be excluded from the membership of the church without the privilege of a fair and impartial investigation and trial.

ARTICLE X
ORDINANCES

The church shall maintain the two Scriptural Ordinances, namely, Baptism (immersion), and the Lord's Supper.

ARTICLE XI
MEETINGS

The church shall maintain Sunday Morning and Sunday Evening Services and such meetings as may be profitable in the preaching of the Gospel, and winning the lost to Christ.

ARTICLE XII
CHANGE OF CONSTITUTION

The Church Constitution may be changed or amended at such times and in such manner as may be deemed wise and proper for the administration of the affairs of the church by a three-fourths vote of the membership present at the time of such action provided that notice of meeting for that purpose shall have been made from the Pulpit thirty (30) days in advance of such meetings.
